: The Character Education in Social Studies. The rapid change of life promotes conflict and degradation of values and character of the nation. Empowerment toward values and characters of the na­tion is necessary through inculturation or education. This study describes the implementation of sosial studies education for values and character empowerment. A qualitative approach is used in this study. The researcher conducted documentary studies, observations, interviews, and discussions. The data were anal­ized and checked by triangulation. The results show that Social Sudies teachers have a good understanding and performance in teaching values and character education in Social Studies, supported by activities outside of the classroom such as Ma'had Madany, additional programs and a number of extracurricular activi­ties. They need to strengthen their understandings, awareness, and performance. They are the role models and living examples for students. The results constitute useful input for schools in implementing any curricula emphasizing character education
