Adopsi Teknologi Produksi Jagung Dengan Pendekatan Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu Pada Lahan Sawah Tadah Hujan

Maize production technology based on Integrated Crop Management (ICM) was introduced to Mandalle village, Pangkep District, South Sulawesi in 2005 to 2008. In 2009 within the development area on the rainfed lowland, study was conducted to measure the rate of technology adoption based on ICM, and to study its socio-economic impact on the farmers. Results showed, among the nine introduced technology components only the proper rates of fertilization optimum plant spacing were not fully adopted by farmers. Technology components variety, land preparation, soil drainage, irrigation, weeding, pest and disease control and the use of corn sheller, all had been adopted. Lamuru and BISI varieties are feasible to be recommended, due to their high yield and good acceptance by farmers. Lamuru variety gave higher profit than did BISI variety, and its the cost of production for Lamuru was lower that that of BISI. The R/C value was >1, B/C was larger that 1, and MBCR was 0.70. The maize farming during the dry season had created land leasing, farmers\u27 group and partnership between farmers and traders and corn sheller ranting, which had reduced the unemployment and urbanization in the village
