Pembuatan Aplikasi Mobile Gis Berbasis Android Untuk Informasi Pariwisata Di Kabupaten Gunungkidul

Gunungkidul Regency is one of many regencies in Yogyakarta Special District, Indonesia. The central of the government is at Wonosari Subdistrict. As a town filled with interesting facilities and tourism objects, Gunungkidul Regency became one of many traveling destinations for domestic and foreign tourists. And because of that, Gunungkidul Regency should have a supproting facility like a guide about its tourism objects so it could ease the tourists who will be coming there.This study utilizes coordinate data and descriptions of each tourism object which is done by a direct field survey using handheld GPS. The next step was building an Android-based application using MIT App Inventor 2 software. And on the last phase, it compares connection speed when the application is being used at WLAN, 2G and 3G network.This study produced a mobile GIS application about tourism in Gunungkidul Regency that hopefully could help domestic and foreign tourists when they travel there. The application features the direction and the distance to the tourism objects, and common information like public transportation routes and hotel list
