Analisis Pengetahuan Dan Tindakan Senam Kegel Terhadap Penyembuhan Luka Perineum Pada Ibu Nifas Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Purwokerto Selatan

Mother experienced physical change during pregnancy and delivery such as loosing-fitting abdominal wall, vagina, and pelvic muscles. During the delivery mother also might experience perineum laceration. Perineum laceration and its healing was affected by mother and baby factors. One of the factors was kegel excercise. The advantages were neater stiches, accelerating healing, relieving hemorrhoid, improving control over urine. Midwife gave the knowledge on kegel exercise during the pregnancy period until the end of puerperium. The aim of this study was to analyze knowledge and treatmant of kegel excercise to perineum healing on puerperal mother in the working area of Purwokerto Selatan Health Center. The research used analytical survey with correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The population was all post-partum mothers in the working area of Purwokerto selatan Health Center, while the samples were mothers with perineum wound maximum degree II in the working area of Purwokerto Selatan Health center. Data analysis was done to analyze two variables by chi test. The result showed that the correlation of kegel excercise knowledge to perineum wound healing was X2 count 11.980 with p value = 0.003. While the correlation of kegel excercise to perineum wound healing was X2 count 8.613 with p value = 0.013. There was significant relation between kegel excercise and its knowledge to perineum wound healing. Key words: perineum wound healing, kegel excercise
