This article shows the principle of teaching the verb aspect in Polish by means of examples taken from other Slavonic languages. It presents the differences among verb aspects found in Polish, Czech, Slovak and Slovenian. The illustrative examples also document the final numer of mistakes made by foreign students whose first languages miss the right equivalent of the verb aspect.
