As a non-Native scholar researching Native women's literatures, I ask myself some serious ethical questions. How do I find meaning in the texts I study? How do I learn from Native women's writing? Specific stories can work together to create cumulative narratives. Therefore, I focus my thesis on one specific voice, Cherie Dimaline. I interact with Dimaline's talk' through her novel, Red Rooms, and through a recorded conversation we had. My interpretation of Dimaline's talk is part of a process that acknowledges complex relationships and encourages dialogue.
