The Islamic Republic of Iran poses threats to its regional neighbors and the international community and has been identified as a state-sponsor for a number of terrorist organizations that share its anti-Western perspective. All of these activities are designed to project Iran’s foreign policy and revolutionary ideals, the goals of which are regional and international hegemony. To assist in achieving these goals, Iran uses its Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), whose involvement in transnational organized crime aids and abets terrorism and proliferation activities.
