This study examines how Christian non-governmental organizations(CNGOs), a sizable and distinct group of Canadian non-governmental organizations(NGOs), work with women in developing countries. More specifically, it attempts to find out if CNGOs are using the most recent Gender and Development(GAD) approach. This is done by including a literature review of the different strategies development agencies use when working with women. Then an analysis of CNGO gender and development policies is undertaken. First, the number of CNGOs having GAD policies is determined. Then a more complex evaluation is conducted to find out which CNGOs have the best GAD policies. This assessment is based on how many goals they included inherent in the GAD approach. ...
