Glasses doped with rare earth ions and/or semiconductor nanoparticles continues to be the subject of several studies due to their effectiveness in optoelectronic fields. Indeed, these materials are among the potential candidates for photonic applications such as optical fiber amplifiers, light converters, sensors and 3D waveguides. As part of this thesis, silica-based glasses (SiO2) doped with europium ions (Eu3+) were prepared by the sol-gel process.
