This thesis is a contribution towards the reduction of primary energy consumption and a better use of the renewable energy sources within the cooling system for building use. After a state of the art of the cooling machines for building use, a dynamic model for a solar absorption cooling system is developed and simulated. Then, an effectiveness factor (EF) for the comparison of solar absorption chiller suitability in different locations is defined.
