Agroecology implies the design of farming systems integrating ecosystem services. Biological pest control by natural enemies might be favored to pesticide, the most common strategy in pest control. Some landscape ecology findings show that landscapes with a high proportion of semi-natural habitats (woods, forests, meadows, etc) favour natural enemies because they provide shelters, egg-laying sites and food. Landscape pest management would require to design and set up agricultural landscape favouring these habitats and thus natural enemies and biological pest control.
