The Story of Qiu Ju (1992) is a Chinese film by renowned director Zhang Yimou. The documentary-like film is about a woman in rural China (Qiu Ju) who is on a quest for justice after the local government official physically assaults her husband, which includes kicks to the groin. The film received attention from reviewers and critics, and commentators in various disciplines.
