The purpose of this research-based development project was to generate new knowledge of current and needed future eHealth competencies for patient education. This knowledge is important for developing masters in eHealth curriculum of Lahti University of Applied Sciences. The objective was to provide recommendations on how the new knowledge generated in this study could be applied in the curriculum development. The study used both quantitative and qualitative research design to examine current and future eHealth competency that nurses need in patient education. 101 nurses from Helsinki, Finland participated in the study.
