Digital communication has become the most commonly used form of communicating today. Through digitalisation our views, ways of understanding and interacting have changed. And today we are living in a world, where computers defy our everyday lives. The purpose of this thesis is to give a general understanding of digital communication and how it has evolved since the seventies until today. Before the digital era, the way people communicated differed significantly from the way we interact today.
