This paper examines the Department of Defense\u27s use of corporate strategies to manage U.S. overseas military bases and concludes that the Department of Defense\u27s continued use of these corporate strategies which have negatively impacted the United States\u27 relationship with host nations-depends on the Department of Defense\u27s ability to successfully strike a balance between efficiency and diplomacy
