GAMBARAN KESEHATAN JIWA MAHASISWA BIDIKMISI DEPARTEMEN KEPERAWATAN FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO

Mental health is able to control ourself to resolve stressor by positive thinking without any physical and psychological pressure, leading to emotional stability. Mental health problems can occur to students, especially Bidikmisi students. Bidikmisi students are students from family with lower income, and get scholarship from Goverment. Preliminary study of 10 Bidikmisi students of Nursing Department are found: 60% students included to psychological distress category, and 40% of students included to psychological well being category. This study aimed to describe mental health description of Bidikmisi students of Nursing Department, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University. This research belongs to quantitative research with descriptive research design. Respondents are taken with total sampling technique, 140 Bidikmisi students. The results showed that 50.7% Bidikmisi students included to psychological well being, and 49.3% Bidikmisi students included to mental distress. Educational instutution can do mental health screening at the beginning of Bidikmisi students education period to monitor their development from any aspects. Bidikmisi students can use of counseling facilities that have been prepared by institution to maintain mental health condition during their education periode.
