Bahasa Sang Ibu dalam Pengajaran (Studi Kasus Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Terpadu PAPB, Palebon, Semarang)

Abstract: This research aims to study about mother tongue usage in the utterance spoken by kindergarten teachers of TK IT PAPB in class. The analysis is focused in the choice of words and sentences which are the basic foundation of an utterance. Gesture and paralinguistic that come along with utterance are also researched.The result of this research showed that vocabularies existing in the teachers’ utterance are simple vocabularies that are understandable by the children in their acquisition period. The using of regional as well as foreign language is not a problem since the attribute is still simple and easy to understand. Interrogatives appear to be used most frequently. The movements of several body parts with clear meanings, exaggerated intonation, and slow speaking tempo are the embodiment of unique gesture and paralinguistic reflected in mother tongue.
