ANALISIS KESALAHAN FONOLOGIS PADA BAHASA MANDARIN OLEH MAHASISWA D3 BAHASA MANDARIN UNIVERSITAS JENDERAL SOEDIRMAN PURWOKERTO

This study focuses on the pronunciation errors by D3 Bahasa Mandarin Unsoed students majoring in Mandarin. The data were collected by using interview, questionnaire, and observation methods with a recording technique. That were transcribed by using IPA symbols, were analyzed with the theory of Generative Transformation by Schane (1973), Chomsky and Halle (1968) and Error Analysis by Corder (1967) and Selinker (1972). This study uses Padan method and Agih method by Sudaryanto (1993). In addition, the study applied a speech analyser program to show the physical forms of sound by Cahil (2008), Ogden (2009). Based on the research results, it was found that pronunciation errors occur in the Chinese consonants. The consonant sounds supposed to be pronounced with aspiration, were pronounced without aspirations, and consonant sounds supposed to be pronounced minus anterior at the post-alveolar articulation, were pronounced with anterior at the frontal alveolar. The factor causing the pronunciation error is the phonological system difference between Chinese and Indonesia, and Chinese and Javanese as the mother tongue of respondents. The physical form of the sound shown in spectogram also shows the difference between the standard pronunciation and the respondents pronounciation. Tesis ini berfokus pada kesalahan pengucapan bunyi pada bahasa Mandarin oleh mahasiswa D3 Bahasa Mandarin Unsoed. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, angket, dan perekaman. Selain itu digunakan teknik SBLC dari Sudaryanto (1993). Data rekaman pengucapan bunyi BM ditranskripsi menggunakan IPA kemudian dianalisis dengan teori Generatif Transformasi dari Schane (1973), Chomsky dan Halle (1968), selain itu digunakan teori Error Analysis dari Corder (1976) serta teori Interlanguage dari Selinker (1972). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode padan dan agih dari Sudaryanto (1993) untuk menganalisis data. Hasil analisis data dibuktikan dengan menggunakan spektogram bentuk fisik bunyi program Speech Analyser dari Cahil (2008), Ogden (2009). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kesalahan pengucapan bunyi pada BM terjadi pada bunyi konsonan beraspirasi yang diucapkan tidak beraspirasi dan bunyi konsonan yang memiliki ciri minus anterior dengan letak artikulasi pada post alveolar yang diucapkan plus anterior. Faktor utama penyebab kesalahan pengucapan bunyi BM adalah perbedaan sistem fonologis antar bahasa Mandarin dengan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Jawa sebagai bahasa ibu responden. Bentuk fisik bunyi dari spektogram program Speech Analyser menunjukan bahwa pengucapan bunyi standar oleh native speaker dan pengucapan bunyi oleh responden berbeda
