Journalism deserves a depth evaluative treatment, so that it can show the current shortcomings of the information, which influenced by sectors of power, do not show contextualized realities; but generates manipulation in the audiences by showing biased realities. Hence the relevance of this analysis, presented as a way to measure the quality in journalism. The article aims to analyze quality standards in the treatment of journalistic information on the Bill of Inheritance and capital gains, according to two daily ecuadorian newspapers, El Comercio and El Telegrafo. The main objective of the research is to inquire and compare the two print newspapers with their digital versions, the investigative genre of the news, quality standards of the publications regarding to the proposed topic and in this way show whether it exists impartiality and objectivity in their reporting.El ejercicio periodístico amerita un tratamiento valorativo a profundidad, el cual pueda evidenciar las falencias actuales de la información que, mediatizada por sectores de poder, no muestra realidades contextualizadas, sino que genera manipulación en las audiencias al mostrar realidades parcializadas. De ahí la relevancia de este análisis, presentado como una forma de medir la calidad periodística. El artículo propone analizar estándares de calidad en el tratamiento que se da a la información periodística sobre el Proyecto de Ley de Herencias y Plusvalía en dos diarios de prensa escrita ecuatorianos, El Comercio y El Telégrafo. El objetivo principal de la investigación es indagar y comparar los dos medios de prensa escrita en sus versiones digitales, el género investigativo de noticia, estándares de calidad en las publicaciones con respecto a la temática planteada para, de esta forma evidenciar si en estos medios se evidencia la imparcialidad y objetividad en sus informaciones
