How Is the \u201cAuthentic \u201c Medina Great? Some Rescaling Problems in the Analysis of the Territorial Dynamic of the Medina of Marrakech

For a large proportion of the nearly 10 million Western tourists who visit Morocco ecery year, Marrakech is the principal entrance to the country, and the visit to the Medina is among the most important events of their trip. In fact, the Medina offers a cospicuous heritage patrimony organically inserted into an atmosphere that answers to the canons and, above all, to the stereotypes of the "orientalism" that still permeates a consistent part of the western image of Morocco.
