The present work investigates a new process "top-down" of producing a starch nanoparticlesbased on the use of ultrasound as a means of physical disintegration. An extensivecharacterization using dynamic light scattering (DLS), Filed-effect scanning electronicmicroscopy (FE-SEM), and structural analysis (XRD, Raman and SAXS) shows that this wassuccessful in producing nanosized starch particles with platelet-like morphology. Theparticles produced were used as a Pickering stabilizer in the emulsion polymerization ofacrylic nanocomposite.
