Despite cancer screening programs and the available therapeutic armamentarium, 8.2 million deaths worldwide were due to cancer in 2012 (data Globocan 2012, WHO). The antitumor immunotherapy is booming and aims at using the immune system of the host as a response against the tumor. The use of bacterial vectors, able to deliver an antigenic message and concomitantly stimulate innate immunity, is one of the most promising approaches to antitumor vaccination.
