This thesis discusses ranching in Point Reyes National Seashore as well as the social, economic, and environmental impacts that it has on the surrounding area. This project answered the question; “what is the purpose/goal of Point Reyes National Seashore, and how does agricultures fit into this purpose?” In order to understand this issue one must look at the historical context of the area and the National Park Service in general. This thesis explores the current issues in the Park and offered recommendations based on collected secondary research as well as responses from a survey released in the community.
