International audienceSince a few decades, various approaches, techniques and software have been developed tomodel easily and quickly the 3D structural geometry of subsurface. Among them, some use an explicitrepresentation of geological interfaces while others are based on an implicit one. Several works tendto promote one approach against the other. In this contribution, we suggest that both approaches arenot mutually exclusive and can be combined in the same study depending on available data and on thetype of geological features to be modelled.
