Dekret PKWN w sprawie tzw. reformy rolnej z 6 września 1944 r. miał przede wszystkim znaczenie polityczne, a jego wprowadzenie, niezależnie od wprowadzonych nim zmian w strukturze agrarnej na polskiej wsi, służyło głównie przejęciu władzy w Polsce przez komunistów po zakończeniu II wojny światowej. Tzw. reforma rolna doprowadziła do likwidacji grupy społecznej właścicieli ziemskich. Pomimo upływu ponad 70 lat od wprowadzenia dekretu nadal pozostaje wiele zasadniczych wątpliwości co do skutków prawnych jego wprowadzenia.
