International audienceA very precise study of the heavy minerals of silty sands of Matmata Mounts (South Tunisia), and that of present and pleistocene winds show that those eolian sediments came from deflation on the Grands Chotts (great playas) rather than from migration of Grand Erg Oriental sands.L'étude très précise du cortège des minéraux lourds des sables limoneux des Monts de Matmata, ainsi que celle des vents actuels et pléistocènes, indique que ces dépôts d'origine éolienne proviennent plus sûrement de la déflation sur les Grands Chotts tunisiens que de la migration des sables du Grand Erg Oriental
