International audienceShort writing of wisdom, whom author and receivers remain almost unknown, Qoheleth carries a universal message; late integrated in the canon of the Hebrew Bible, late translated in Greek, this book also addresses the textual and theological questions asked by the gradual establishment of the biblical corpus. The study of its reception is therefore particularly interesting: after a few openings on its place in Judaism and Islam, this study goes through the writings of the Greek, Latin and Syriac Church Fathers, in which the Ecclesiastes, part of the Salomonian trilogy together with the Proverbs and the Song of Songs, is given a rich interpretative tradition, both in the form of exegetical chains and dedicated comments. ...
