Case Study Background. A 40 year old female student received a FluLava (GlaxoSmithKline) trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine. Patient states within 2 hours of vaccination, she experienced left shoulder pain and within 24 hours severely compromised range of motion. Patient states that she felt the injection was right under the acromium of the shoulder, very high compared to other injections. She felt the injection in the joint. The injection was given by a Pharmacist as their first injection provided. Methods.
