A new method for the chromatographic separation of anions and cations on paper is proposed. It consists in using an organic developing solvent different from that of the saturation. The procedure was tested on solutions of nickel, cobalt, copper, iron, aluminum, titanium, lead, uranium, cadmium, silicon, boron, molybdenum, tungsten, chromium. The procedure leads to a number of advantageous interesting separations and lends itself to quantitative work on the microgram scale. Boron separated from molybdenum and silicon, has been found with a mean error of 2.5% in 17 trials (10 γ each).
