He worked as a banker and was an officer in the German army in World War I. His wife died when she was giving birth to their son Ernst Klaus on December 22nd 1923. His housekeeper Lida Reinmann, whom he married after World War II, cared for his son. In the late 1930s he fled to Holland, from where he was deported to Theresienstadt. He survived and lived in Amsterdam until his death in 1971. His son Ernst Klaus died in Dachau in 1944.ex F 18740Scheidt_phot
