This project was designed to assess both the motivations and experiences of coaches within Special Olympics Utah (SOUT). This research focused on determining why an individual chooses to volunteer as a coach, why they choose to continue coaching, and how coaches receive communication from SOUT. Prior to this study, there was a large research gap in the subject of Special Olympics coaches, which is why our study was so essential. The research method for this project centered on gathering in-depth data from focus group participants, using open-ended, non-predictive questions.
