My dissertation utilizes the Asian rhinoceros beetle, Trypoxylus dichotomus (Kono), to investigate the proximate mechanisms behind both the evolution of shape in a sexually selected weapon, as well as how sexually selected weaponry evolves exaggerated growth responses based on an organism’s condition.
