A two-year-old spayed Burmese cat presented with a history of sudden onset of lameness two months after surgical repair of caudal elbow luxation. Craniocaudal and lateral radiographs demonstrated recurrence of the luxation and a caudolateral displacement of the radial head. Surgery was performed to reattach the proximal radius to the ulna with a 2mm screw. The humeral condyle was reduced and stabilised with a temporary transarticular pin The outcome of the surgery was good with the cat retaining normal use of the limb. However, normal limb function did not occur until the screw between the radius and ulna was removed to allow normal pronation and supination of the forearm
