Adsortion of textile dye on the activated carbon from eleagnus stone

Yüksek Lisans TeziEndüstriyel atık suların neden olduğu kirlilik birçok ülkede yaygın bir sorun haline gelmektedir. Tekstil atık suları boyalar tarafından kirletilmektedir. Aktif karbonun birçok çeşidi düşük maliyetli adsorbentler olarak atık sulardan boyaların giderilmesi için kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, iğde meyvesi çekirdeğiden elde edilmiş aktif karbon kullanılarak metilen mavisi, rhodamine B ve malahit yeşili boyarmaddelerinin sulu çözeltiden adsorpsiyonu incelenmiştir. Yapılan deneylerde sıcaklık, pH ve başlangıç boyarmadde konsantrasyonunun adsorpsiyon verimine etkileri gözlemlenmiştir. Deneyler sonucu elde edilen verilerin Langmuir ve Freundlich gibi çeşitli izotermlere uygunluğu belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca, adsorpsiyon kinetiği ve adsorpsiyon termodinamiği de incelenmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Aktif karbon, iğde çekirdeği, metilen mavisi, malahit yeşili, rhodamine B, adsorpsiyon.AbstractThe pollution caused by industrial wastewater has become a common problem for most of the countries. Wastewater from the textile is polluted by dyes. Various kinds of activated carbon have been used as low-cost adsorbents for removal of dyes from wastewaters. In this study, activated carbons prepared from eleagnus stone was used for the adsorption of methylene blue, malachite green and rhodamine B from aqueous solutions. In the experiments done, the effects of temperature, pH and initial concentration on adsorption yield were examined. The experimental results were applied to several isotherms like Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.
