Information systems architectures are becoming increasingly complex and fragmented. As a result, organizations struggle to cope with change propagation, compliance management, and interoperability. Two major components in current information system architectures in terms of modeling business requirements are business processes and business rules. Although the need for business processes and business rules to be modeled in an integrated manner is well established, the body of knowledge on integrated modeling of the two is limited.
