The recalibration of architectural theory in the 80s resulted in an inferior position for architectural design discourse. Since then, the legitimacy of design decisions is cunningly circumvented by referring to a fabricated theoretical framework. As a result a contemporary design idea will not be appreciated based on its single potential. To be critical about design ideas we need to step outside the systemic frameworks of running theories. Architectural criticism is different from critical architecture. And critical architecture in itself is a different concept than being critical about design ideas. That is why we need to appropriate notions of creativity from other knowledge fields to understand the contingent constitution of design ideas...
