Abstract

The Heron Island Research Station Slides Collection consist of slides from the University of Queensland Heron Island Research Station (HIRS), situated on the southern Great Barrier Reef, and is the oldest and largest marine research station on the Reef. Slides include general views of Heron Island and HIRS, corals and reefs, reef plants and animals, terrestrial plants and animals, transport to island, University of Queensland researchers, and damages to HIRS and surrounding reefs after Cyclones Fran and Rewa
