Current governments are overhauling established administrative processes as they rapidly deploy e-government. In this paper we present examples of such development from two countries with well-developed e-government programmes: the United Kingdom and the Republic of Kazakhstan and provide a comparison of key aspects of e-government in each country. We observe that quite different policies often result in very similar outcomes. For example, in the area of g-cloud there are rather similar technologies, driven by completely different policies.
