This article explores the possibility of thinking of Michel Foucault as a pedagogue. Positioning him in that place, granting him a value so appreciated in our culture, means making an analytical and a discoursive detour around his three major concepts: knowledge, power and subjectivity. This detour implies the taking up of a cultural line very different from the one established by classical pedagogy (Rousseau and Pestalozzi): the line starting up with Goethe and ending up with Nietzsche.
