The book is the result of a pilot project initiated by the Swedish Film Institute and it deals with films from one specific part of Sweden, Västmanland. After a brief introduction of the project and its background, two separate case studies are presented. The first investigates the ways in which questions of heritage and identity were presented and visualized on a regional level in Sweden in the 1950s. The second looks at a wide range of home movies from the 1960s, -70s and -80s, particularly focusing on individual relations to camera and motif
