Evaluation of demand for outpatient treatment services in clients of treatment centers of Qazvin social security organization in 2015

Background: The target population must be able to receive needed services without endure hard work and these services must comply with the culture and needs of recipients and the costs are bearable. In this study, the demand for outpatient treatment services were studied clients of treatment centers of Qazvin social security organization in 2015. Methods: This cross-sectional study was prospective. 384 patients were evaluated. Data collection tool was a questionnaire. The questionnaire had three main parts. The first part included demographic characteristics of patients such as gender, age, education, income, type of insurance and job. The second part of questionnaire included medical records, cause and the number of outpatient in 11 items. The third part of the questionnaire included medical services needed in the future. Cronbach's alpha was calculated 0.755 for reliability. Chi-square test was used to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Results: The most frequent reason for clients visit were having cold (19.3%), testing (15.9%), medication (9.4%), obstetrics and gynecology (9.1%), dentists (7.8%) and orthopedic (7.8%). The average number of visits to health centers Social Security Organization of Qazvin were 2±1.3 times. All patients wanted the existing of medical laboratory, radiology and sonography. Medical required from the perspective view were internal expertise (12.5%), cardiology (11.7%), orthopedic (8.3%) and dentists (8.1%). The demand for outpatient services had significant relationship with age, income, insurance and medical history of patients (p 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the diagnostic laboratory, radiology and sonography services were requested by all clients in outpatient treatment Social Security Administration. As well as the medical expertise required from the perspective of patients were expertise, cardiology, orthopedics and dentistry, respectively. This results were useful and applicable in planning health care of, outpatient social security centers and will meet the treatment needs of patients.
