Interaksi Pendidikan pada Keluarga Penggiat Kesetaraan gender di Lingkungan IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin

A family is the smallest institution which has great influence toward an individual development. The education growing in a family has a complex characteristic, due to the relation among family members, like a husband, a wife, the children or other people in it. Of the behaviors being learned in the family relation is something that relates to gender. In the gender discussion, a man seems to be more prioritized because of patriarchy system among people. The understanding about subject-object, dominant-non dominant, superior-inferior as well as the inequality of duties distribution between males and females more often positions them to obtain special rights while females are in the second-class. Although the far better relation which has been built between males and females in several citizen group, the equal relation in other groups are still far from hope.\ud \ud This research is conducted in State Islamic Institute Antasari Banjarmasin and uses qualitative approach and is included as study case research. The research object is family education in the family of gender equality activists in the environment of State Islamic Institute Antasari Banjarmasin. Then, the research subject is 8 (eight) people who have been regarded as gender equality activists in the State Islamic Institute Antasari Banjarmasin.\ud \ud This research ends in conclusions, as the following: 1) The role distribution of husband, wife, and children in the family of gender activists is carried out well by distinct methods. The rights and obligations of every family member is executed regarding to agreement of each other by democratic ways, particularly between husband and wife. And the relation in that family between husband, wife, and children also runs equally, without any dominance; 2) The implementation of equality in the family of gender activists is being practiced by different ways in every family. The gender equality, in their opinions, means when men and women gain the same freedom in all stuffs; however, it is created without ruining Sharia regulation and social norms.
