Project management performance of Mogale City Local Municipality

(Business Management)Abstract: The work invested in this dissertation incorporates intentions to promote the quality of life amongst communities as well as business development amongst enterprises within Mogale City through improving project management performance at the municipality. Annually the municipality invests hundreds of millions of Rands in the implementation of projects that are intended to improve provisioning of municipal services such as potable water distribution, electricity distribution, waste collection, provisioning of water borne sewer, maintenance and construction of roads and storm water networks as well as maintenance and construction of community centres. A five year strategic plan 2011/2016 has been adopted by the council of the municipality in order to guide it in the implementation of approved projects. It is the aim of this research to develop project management improvement initiatives that would enable the municipality to realise the strategic goals expressed in its strategic plan so that the quality of life of communities in Mogale City would improve and business in the municipality could flourish
