The author discusses the challenges and shifts of pedagogy in incorporating an innovative Project to link UK and Australian schools between 1996 and 1998. Despite the UK government's National Grid for Learning policy in 1997, only four schools (out of the total of 125 schools) in Sunderland, UK had a computer connected to the Internet.
