The use of adhesive joints in industrial structural applications is currently growing. Nevertheless, the designing process is still a challenge for engineers because there is a lack of effective models to predict their behaviour. In particular, the use of flexible adhesives has been become a trend in the industry because of the advantages that they offer, and many research are ongoing in order to develop effective analytical models for its design. Current models, which are developed for compressible rigid adhesives, are unable to accurately predict the behaviour of flexible adhesives joints with low elastic modulus, incompressibility and large strain to failure.
