The study was designed to investigate the abilities of sighted individuals to recognize emotions in embossed pictures (explored tactilely). The research material consisted of pictures representing male and female faces expressing: happiness, sadness, fear, surprise, disgust and anger. The fi ndings suggest that women more accurately recognize emotions based on tactile exploration of drawings depicting facial expressions.
