Results: The region 375– 485 is involved in membrane destabilization in vitro and required for cell intoxication. Conclusion: The region 375– 485 is crucial for membrane insertion and translocation of the catalytic domain of CyaA. Significance: These results provide new insights on the early stages of the cell intoxication process
