Dentin hypersensitivity is characterized as a painful reaction of exposed dentine to chemical, thermal, tactile or osmotic non-harmful stimulus. Among treatments, the glass ionomer cement acts in reducing pain through the obliteration of dentinal tubules. The aim of this randomized, double-blind and split-mouth clinical trial was to evaluate and compare the desensitizing efficacy of a resin modified glass ionomer cement, Clinpro XT® (3M Espe, Minnesota, USA), and a conventional glass ionomer cement, Vidrion R® (SS White, Gloucester, UK), at 6-months follow-up.
