This work is in the context of the History of School Subjects, which is part of the broader field of the History of Education. This research aimed to investigate the pedagogical practices of physical education teachers at the Federal Technical School of Pelotas (ETFPel) between the years 1973 and 1996. This work was based on memories of eleven teachers, teaching programs and the legal provisions of the period. The concept of habitus was employed to explain the modus operandi of these teachers and the School Culture as a category of analysis.
