International audienceFractal geometry has gained attention in recent years and represents a problem of high interest for the characterization of surface topography. In this study it was analyzed the surface micro-topography for a rolled thick sheet anisotropic metallic material of type 2000 series aluminium alloy (AA2024-T351). In order to analyze and to characterize the corresponding anisotropic surfaces, profile of particular samples were recorded with a specialized apparatus Mitutoyo SJ-301 (Japan). The random nature of the roughness height is described through statistical analysis.
